4th of July weekend

 - by Brittany

4th of July means sour cherry time in the Brazell family. Friday morning, Jameson got to see his Grandpa.

Friday, after a few chores around the house, and preparing a few food items for Saturday, we headed out to Kevin’s parents. It starts out by picking the cherries, obviously.

We spent all night washing, pitting, and jamming the cherries. Jameson scored some rootbeer from his Grammy.

Dancing with Grammy and Papa…

Saturday we were able to have friends and family over for a bbq. Catherine requested a cake for her birthday, which was the 5th, so we had to go all out of course.

We had some great ribs, pasta salads, watermelon, chips and guacamole, and lots more great food to eat.  Plus we had a little wii action and rockband of course.

After some good food, we ventured out to the Aces game. We had lawn seats, but when we arrived, the lawn was no where to be found. We ended up under the flagpoll, behind the gate. There were some people standing in front of us, but as they got tired of standing we scooted forward. Jameson had a great time, but it would have been better if we could see the game.

Steph joined us for a time before finding some actual seats.

This is what happens when you can’t see the game. You find other interesting things. For instance,

Sariah and I are going to get us some of these. I really need one for J-mo!

Eventually, they told everyone in the lawn they needed to move past the foul polls. What!! Do you know how many people that is, and where are they going to go? Well security by us told us the anouncer made a mistake, and we just needed to move past the flag poll. So really, we needed to move 10 feet to the left. Some of the people from the lawn had already moved, though, so Sariah scored us some some lawn seats. For the last few plays of the game, we got to actually see!

Time for the rally cap, right Greg?

Poor Camden fell asleep before the game was finished. He was out!

Then the after show finally started! It took forever. First, the guard came out and did gun solutes for each division of our armed forces. Then there was a video (which lasted a little too long). It was still nice, though. Then there was a light show, and finally the fireworks. It was a little slow to start, but ended up being a really good show.

Thanks for everyone who came over. We had a great time on Saturday, and couldn’t ask for better friends.
