Crash and Burn

 - by Brittany

We decided to take a trip to the lake again, this time taking the boat and the jet ski out. We went to my mom’s Friday night so we wouldn’t have to make the entire 3 1/2-4 hour drive in the morning. We took Kevin’s little sister, his brother and his fiance, my brothers, and my brother’s friend out with us. I think we scared his little sister (Brittney, yes we have the same name and it does get confusing) on the way over by playing some tunes from back in the day! Jmo didn’t mind the bass and slept through it all. Saturday morning we got up and headed to New Melones Lake. It was pretty windy so we headed out to find a more protected area on the lake to get some wakeboarding going. I figured I would post lots of pictures so that everyone we were with can have access to them. Sorry about so many!

After the crash, he resorted to the jet ski.

So as we were waiting for Lottie to get put the wakeboard on Kevin was off on the jet ski. Apparently he was adjusting the angle of the thruster trying to see if he could go faster or jump better and different angles. Well, he adjusted it and headed for some wakes. He hit the wakes all right going about 50 mph. He went one way and the jet ski went another. Since all our attention was on Lottie and she was the only one facing the other direction, she was the only witness. She yelled that he fell we turned around and then wondered if the key was attached to his wrist because the jet ski was still going. It was… but he was going so fast it took a while for the jet ski to slow down. So he had to make a good swim to get to it. Did he learn his lesson… nope! He did it a second time! Pretty funny!

They have these floating potties on the water for you. Well a few of our crew members needed to make a pit stop (I won’t say who 🙂 ) Jeremy was on the jet ski and entertained us all by mixing things up a bit. Well maybe those inside were not quite as entertained as we were!

Notice the big house boat in the back. Well it was apparently someone’s bachelor party and there was a huge sign on the side that said “Beads for boobs.” All the guys yelled as they went by. Thought about getting me some beads but Kevin didn’t approve. 🙂 It was hilarious though.

Paul was a good boat driver all day

After everyone was done boarding, it was tube time. By the way… I did wake board and knee board but there are no pictures since I was the picture taker.

Brittney and Lottie were the first to tube. They were valiant in holding on. Lottie was victorious on the first round.

Family time

june-7-2008-048-large.jpg

We had a great time. Thanks so much to Mom and Don for letting us use their toys! Hopefully we can make it out again soon. We made it home just in time to teach our primary class… sore, burned, and all.

Bounce Sheets

 - by Brittany

I thought this was interesting…

Bounce This AlongMy mail carrier told me that the US Postal service sent out a message to all letter carriers to put a sheet of Bounce in their uniform pockets to keep yellow-jackets away.Use them all the time when playing baseball and socc er. I use it when I am working outside. It really works. The yellow jackets just veer around you.
1. All this time you’ve just been putting Bounce in the dryer! It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them. It also repels mice.
2. Spread sheets around foundation areas, or in trailers, or cars that are sitting and it keeps mice from entering your vehicle.
3. It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that don’t get opened too often.
4. It repels mosquitoes. Tie a sheet of Bounce through a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season.
5. Eliminate static electricity from your television (or computer) Screen.6. Since Bounce is designed to help eliminate static cling, wipe your television screen with a used sheet of Bounce to keep dust from resettling.
7. Dissolve soap scum from shower doors. Clean with a sheet of Bounce.
8. To freshen the air in your home – Place an individual sheet of Bounce in a drawer or hang in the closet.
9. Put Bounce sheet in vacuum cleaner.
10. Prevent thread from tangling. Run a threaded needle through a Sheet of Bounce before beginning to sew.
11. Prevent musty suitcases. Place an individual sheet of Bounce inside empty luggage before storing.
12. To freshen the air in your car – Place a sheet of Bounce under the front seat.
13. Clean baked-on foods from a cooking pan. Put a sheet in a pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean. The anti-static agent apparently weakens the bond between the food and the pan.
14. Eliminate odors in wastebaskets. Place a sheet of Bounce at the bottom of the wastebasket. 15. Collect cat hair. Rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will magnetically attract all the loose hairs.
16. Eliminate static electricity from Venetian blinds. Wipe the blinds with a sheet of Bounce to prevent dust from resettling.
17. Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sand papering. A used sheet of Bounce will collect sawdust like a tack cloth.
18. Eliminate odors in dirty laundry. Place an individual sheet of Bounce at the bottom of a laundry bag or hamper.
19. Deodorize shoes or sneakers. Place a sheet of Bounce in your shoes or sneakers overnight.
20. Golfers put a Bounce sheet in their back pocket to keep the bees away.
21. Put a Bounce sheet in your sleeping bag and tent before folding and storing them. It will keep them smelling fresh.
